Three things the data says
1. There is no 3.6 premium over the 3.4
Carrera 3.4 median: $31,000 (35 sales). Carrera 3.6 median: $31,375 (22 sales). That's $375 apart — noise. The market does not pay extra for the facelift car's larger engine. Among 6-speed manuals only, it's $30,000 vs $32,100 — still within the margin of condition and mileage differences. Buy the better car, not the bigger number on the engine cover.
2. The 4S widebody costs about $14,000
Carrera 4S median: $44,996. Narrow-body Carrera 3.6 median: $31,375. Difference: $13,621. That premium buys the Turbo-look widebody, all-wheel drive, and the Turbo's bigger brakes — on what is otherwise the same 3.6-liter Carrera underneath. Whether it's worth it is a separate question; we worked it through here.
3. Turbo depreciation flattens past 30,000 miles
Turbo mileage-band medians: under 15k miles $78,750 (4 sales), 15–30k $66,375 (4), 30–50k $49,500 (4), 50–75k $53,500 (9), 75k+ $58,750 (2). The penalty for driving is steepest early — a delivery-miles Turbo costs roughly $30,000 more than a 40,000-mile one. Past 30k, prices cluster in the $50s and mileage matters less than condition and spec. Full breakdown on the Turbo market page.
